Salesforce.com Chatter

You are here: Home » Blog » Tools » Salesforce.com Chatter

You know something’s up when the big players start to adopt.  Salesforce.com recently announced that they will be releasing a new offering in their portfolio of web-based business tools.  Chatter is billed as a

Social computing apps and platform. Collaborate with your colleagues in real time.

What does that actually mean?  Or what does it actually result in?  It’s being called the facebook for the enterprise and it’s applying parts of Social Media tools to help information flow and foster collaboration in businesses.   Check out the video (published on Youtube) that gives a quick overview.

For something similar at the other end of the spectrum (appears to be free), check out Socialwok.  Socialwok integrated with Google docs so all your documents, communications and social interactions end up in the one place.  Very interesting.

This is want I think about Salesforce.Com Chatter:
“Cool. Fun. Easy. Useful. Flexible. Cumbersome. Collaborative. Accessible. Straightforward. Convenient.Revolutionary.”

All such positive words Juan. Apart from Cumbersome. It doesn’t fit in.
